Congratulations on your decision to follow Jesus!

The decision to follow Christ is the most important decision you’ll make in your entire life! We are so excited for you! Here are some resources that are crucial to helping you start off on the right foot:

-God’s Word

Use the CCC Bible we gave you to begin reading God’s Word. We encourage new believers (that’s you) to start reading in the New Testament, beginning with Mark. Reading it daily, no matter the quantity, will help you tremendously. We recommend reading one passage at a time (the section of text between headings). We have created a 21 day devotional to help you read through Mark. To get to the devotional, click the My Daily 21 link below.

You can also start listening to past sermons at CCC by visiting cccmidland.com/sermons. You can even subscribe to our iTunes podcast and have messages downloaded directly to your device.

-Worship Music

Music is a great way to help you worship Jesus. We’ve created a public playlist of songs on Spotify just for you. You’ll hear songs that we sing on Sunday mornings, as well as other songs that will encourage you throughout the week.

-Prayer

Prayer is simply talking with God. It can feel awkward at first, but prayer is an amazing opportunity for a Christ follower. Jesus talks about prayer in Matthew 6. A model for prayer is as follows: worship, surrender, bring your needs to Him, and listen for what God may want to say back.

-Alpha

Our 11-week class called Alpha is designed specifically for new followers of Christ and people who don’t believe in Jesus yet. This class will explore questions that we have asked, but haven’t had the time to dig into…

-What is my purpose?
-Why am I here?
-Is there more to life than this? …And so many more questions.

It’s a relaxed atmosphere that includes food, people, and discussion. Our next Alpha course begins Wednesday, January 10 at 6:20pm. Childcare will be provided and opens at 6:10pm. Let us know you’re coming by clicking the link below. Signing up will ensure we get enough food for you!

I’m coming to Alpha!

-See You Sunday

Regularly coming to church is huge in your walk with Jesus. So, we hope to see you on Sunday!

Your Best Is Still To Come

After deciding to follow Jesus, it’s important that you continue growing in Him. Just like deciding on anything, it’s important once the decision is made that you take the right steps. Here are several Next Steps at CCC.

-Be Water Baptized

Water baptism is a public declaration of your decision to follow Jesus. At CCC, we practice full-immersion baptism, symbolizing the process of death and resurrection that Jesus went through for us. We have multiple baptisms throughout the year. Please let us know if you’re interested in learning more about baptism by filling out the form below.

-Attend the Welcome Party

Our Welcome Party is exactly what it sounds like… A party! It’s a night of fun and good food. It’s also a chance for you to meet the Pastoral Staff and hear the heart and vision of our Lead Pastor, along with hearing about all the ministries and activities you and your family can take advantage of. Let us know you’d like to come! Welcome to the Celebration!

-Get Connected

Volunteering to serve, attending Life Lessons classes, and joining a small group are the best ways to get involved and grow in your faith. At the Welcome Party, you’ll be able to hear about getting connected at CCC, like serving on Sundays or taking advantage of our Wednesday night activities.

If you haven’t accepted Jesus yet, but want to…

1. God loves you and has a plan for you!

The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Jesus said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” — a complete life full of purpose (John 10:10).   But here’s the problem:

2. Man is sinful and separated from God.

We have all done, thought, or said bad things, which the Bible calls “sin.” The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The result of sin is death, spiritual separation from God (Romans 6:23).  The good news?

3. God sent His Son to die for your sins!

Jesus died in our place so we could live with Him in eternity.  “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). But it didn’t end with His death on the cross. He rose again and still lives!  “Christ died for our sins. … He was buried. … He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” (John 14:6). We can’t earn salvation; we are saved by God’s grace when we have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. All you have to do is believe you are a sinner, that Christ died for your sins, and ask His forgiveness. He knows you and loves you. What matters to Him is the attitude of your heart, your honesty. We suggest praying the following prayer to accept Christ as your Savior:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness.I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead.  I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In your name, amen.”
